For over 25 years, Scuba Shack has been a leader in the New England area for both recreational and professional diver education.

We have recently expanded our educational capabilities by opening The Academy @ Scuba Shack. The Academy is a year round professional diving school offering all levels of PADI instructor training. The Academy's instructor level training programs are extremely demanding, focusing on the development of professionalism and leadership as well as presentation, theoretical, and practical skill sets.

Class sizes at The Academy are small enabling our instructional staff to provide hands on individualized service to guarantee success throughout your PADI professional level training.  Our curriculum is geared to provide you with the tools and training to insure, your career will be full of success and growth.

The Academy's instructional methodology employs a strict adherence to adult leaning theory offering candidates more time for interaction and presentation skill practice with less lecture time. 

The Academy utilizes both state of the art live classroom and web based virtual classroom technology to enhance your learning experience. Each class is assigned a secure homepage where group and individual assignments are posted. Additionally, all candidate presentations are digitally recorded and posted to the class web page for review purposes. In addition, candidates have access to a multitude of digital training aids found in our virtual classroom which assist in the IDC learning process. Our state of the art live classroom facility offers the latest technology in training and presentation aids.

The Academy's educational programs prepare candidates to not only pass the rigors of the PADI Instructor Examination (IE) but also to become the educational leaders of the diving community. Excellence in candidate performance is the expected standard not the exception.
